Role Overview

As a Barista / Takeaway Server, you will be at the heart of our takeaway daily service -- preparing high-quality coffees and drinks, assisting with takeaway/grab and go orders, and ensuring every guest leaves with a smile. You'll work closely with the cafe team to keep service running smoothly, support food preparation, and maintain our high standards of presentation and hygiene.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, thrives on customer interaction, and takes pride in great coffee and friendly service.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold drinks, including espresso-based coffees, to a high standard. Take and process customer orders for both dine-in and takeaway service accurately and efficiently. Assist with the preparation and presentation of food items such as cakes, sandwiches, and light bites. Maintain cleanliness and organisation across the coffee station, counter, and takeaway areas. Provide friendly, welcoming, and professional customer service at all times. Handle cash and card transactions with accuracy. Monitor stock levels and communicate with the management team regarding replenishment needs. Support the flow of service by working closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams. Follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures in line with legal and cafe standards. Assist with event preparation or outside catering when required.

Be adaptable and willing to assist across different sections of the cafe as needed. Be punctual, reliable, and take pride in personal presentation. Be flexible with working hours -- including weekends, early mornings, and occasional evenings for events. Requirements

Previous barista or cafe experience preferred (but training can be provided for the right person). Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness and quality. Team player with a proactive and positive attitude. Basic food hygiene knowledge (training can be provided). A car and full driving licence is preferable, as occasional support for outside catering events may be required.
