Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient

Barista

to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the smooth operation of the cafe. Previous experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided to help you succeed in this dynamic environment.

Duties

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, in accordance with company standards. Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including cleaning equipment and surfaces regularly. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations at all times. Serve customers efficiently and courteously, providing excellent customer service to enhance their experience. Manage cash register operations accurately, including taking payments and giving change. Keep track of stock levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing. Assist in opening or closing duties as required, ensuring the cafe is prepared for service or properly secured at the end of shifts.

Qualifications

Previous

barista experience

is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the role. Knowledge of

food safety

standards and procedures. Experience in

serving

customers in a fast-paced environment. Basic

food preparation

skills are advantageous. Good

time management

skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy periods. Ability to perform

basic maths

accurately for cash handling tasks. Strong

skills to prioritise tasks effectively throughout shifts. Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
