Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient

Barista

to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the smooth operation of the cafe during shifts. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided to help you succeed in this dynamic role.

Duties

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met. Handle customer orders efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service to enhance the customer experience. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required. Manage cash register operations accurately, including handling payments and giving correct change. Restock supplies as needed to ensure the cafe remains well-stocked throughout service hours. Uphold health and safety standards by following proper hygiene procedures and cleaning schedules. Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery.

Skills

Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food handling. Previous

Barista experience

is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for coffee culture is essential. Experience in

serving

customers with professionalism and courtesy. Ability to assist with

food preparation

tasks efficiently. Strong

basic maths

skills for handling transactions accurately. Excellent

time management

skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods. Friendly demeanour with strong communication skills to engage positively with customers and colleagues. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
