We are an independent coffee roaster / cafe on Portobello Road.

We have been operating form the location since 1985 and one of the icons on Portobello, well integrated into the local community.

We pride ourselves in serving the best traditional coffee that is organic and roasted by us without the 'attitude' of the speciality coffee house. We aim to remain friendly and affordable to all in the community, bringing people together over a cup of coffee (or matcha :-D)

We do not have much cooked food but rather simple sadwiches, etc. We also retail coffee beans around the globe by kilos for coffee aficionados.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and experienced Barista to join our team.

This is a full time role and requires to have at least 8 years of barista experience. Please do not apply unless you are available to be full time and with at least 8 years of barista experience.

We are looking for people who knows and understands coffee making, latte art and also espresso machines / grinders. We also retail coffee beans so ideally we need people we want to know about all the roasting profile and different flavours of coffee.

As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages to our customers, making simple food such as sadwiches and also keeping the shop organised and clean.

Your friendly and customer-focused approach will ensure an exceptional experience for all patrons.

Duties:
- Prepare and serve a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Operate and maintain coffee brewing equipment, espresso machines, and other beverage equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Assist in food preparation as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations

- Learn about our coffee offers and help customers in coffee bean purchases.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise

Skills:
- Fluent coffee making, latte work and coffee equipments (espresso machines and grinders)

- Proficient in food preparation techniques
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
