A vacancy has arisen for a Barrel Welder.
Duties include:
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, to assemble and weld a wide variety of drive and trail barrels/rollers for conveyors, elevators, and other types of machinery, as well as fabricating small components.
Managing stocks of standard barrels, rollers and their associated parts, replenishing as necessary to maintain required stock levels.
Working to a production schedule to meet deadlines for project completion.
Checking each step of the barrel manufacture process to ensure compliance with the quality standards.
Working to the requirements of an ISO 9001 quality management system.
Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Assisting in other departments when required.

The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys working in a busy environment; is a team player; has good attention to detail; and can prioritize, plan, and manage their workload with minimal supervision.
Due to fluctuating operational demands, it will be necessary to work overtime and/or weekends when required. Where normal working hours are exceeded, the applicable overtime for Monday to Saturday is 1.45x basic hourly rate, and 1.9x basic hourly rate on a Sunday.
