This job is part time annualised hour contracted to 21 hours per week. Shifts are mainly evenings and weekends and candidates MUST have this availability. Occasional daytime shifts maybe required advanced notice of this will be given. The salary advertised is already pro rata for 21 hours per week.

Qualifications
Proven experience in a management role within the hospitality or retail sector.
Strong supervisory experience with a focus on team management and leadership.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous.
Solid organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Purpose
To assist in the successful operation of Burnley Leisure & Culture's venues supporting a wide range of events including theatre and music performances up to 625 people, awards ceremonies and banquet/dinners up to 240 people.
To supervise all bars, catering and customer service operation of the Mechanics Theatre plus have the ability to work across other sites including Towneley Golf Course, Towneley Hall, Prairie Sports Village, The Boathouse, The Pavilion and any other Burnley Leisure and Culture venue as required.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To effectively supervise all bars and operations on theatre productions. To ensure that customer service is provided to a high standard at all times. Provide hands on support for the bars and catering. To consult with the Hospitality team, Event Supervisor and Technical team in relation to any event requirements.
In conjunction with other operational staff, be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of the public, visiting companies and Burnley Leisure and Culture employees.
To ensure that all front of house and hospitality staff comply with all health and safety legislation and policies and the licensing laws.
To be responsible for building security including opening and closing of the building, the auditorium and other performance areas ensuring that the public conduct themselves in a civil and proper manner while using, entering and vacating the premises. To enforce Check 25 and ensure all licensing, safeguarding restrictions and regulations are adhered to and followed by staff and venue users.
To liaise with the Mechanics technical team to ensure shows run on time and to maintain open lines of communication between front and back of house.
To liaise with visiting tour managers and event customers to collate event information to ensure that the event operates efficiently and according to plan.
To liaise with hospitality teams to ensure food allergens and Natasha's Law is always adhered to.
To ensure that all service areas are kept clean and presentable at all times and to ensure after an event the building is clean and ready for service the next day.
To supervise and assist in the selling of merchandise and refreshments.
when required and to be responsible for allocating certain monies for floats for the selling of above. To ensure all EPOS systems and takings are correctly reconciled, stored safely and ready for business support to handle.
To be aware of and promote the future program of events within Burnley Leisure and Culture.
To train and be able to carry out bar cellar work, changing beer barrels and offering support to bar teams. To have an understanding of COSHH and line cleaning operations.
To work with, input and share event data using our online booking systems as well as manual food and beverage bookings.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
To attend training identified as necessary to undertake current and future job requirements.
Adopt a high standard of customer care at all times. If a customer requires assistance, even if this does not directly relate to your job, make every effort to help or find someone who can.
Help to conserve energy by ensuring that the doors are closed and lights are switched off when rooms not in use.
To assist with deliveries and subcontractors working in the building.
To undertake such other duties and responsibilities as are commensurate with the salary grading of the post.
N.B. This post carries an all-inclusive grading which takes into account weekend, evening or shift or irregular hours working.
