We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Beam Saw Operator to join our kitchen furniture manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately cutting sheet materials such as MDF, particleboard, and plywood to size, based on cutting lists and production specifications. You will play a key role in ensuring quality components for our kitchen cabinets, units, and panels.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor beam saw equipment to cut materials for kitchen cabinets and furniture.
Read and interpret technical drawings, cut lists, and job sheets to determine accurate dimensions and materials.
Program machine settings using CNC or computerized interfaces for batch cutting.
Select appropriate boards/sheets based on material type and thickness requirements.
Load, align, and secure sheets on the beam saw table for safe and precise cutting.
Inspect completed cuts for accuracy, squareness, and finish quality.
Optimize material usage to minimize waste and ensure cost-effective production.
Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of the saw and surrounding work area.
Communicate with team members in assembly, CNC, or edge banding departments to coordinate production flow.
Follow all health and safety protocols, including the use of PPE and safe handling of materials.
Requirements:
Previous experience operating a beam saw in a woodworking or furniture manufacturing environment is required.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and cutting lists.
Good numerical skills and attention to detail.
Physical fitness and ability to handle sheet materials (with lifting aids if needed).
Team-oriented with strong communication and time management skills.
Knowledge of kitchen cabinet components and furniture production processes is an asset.
Working Environment:
Workshop/production floor with exposure to dust, noise, and moving equipment.
Requires standing, lifting, bending, and operating machinery for extended periods.
PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection must be worn.
