We are seeking dedicated and resilient
Behaviour Support Mentors
to work across secondary and/or specialist settings in the Bristol area from
September 2025
. The ideal candidate will have
Team Teach
or
Positive Behaviour Management (PBLM)
training and a strong understanding of supporting students with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or additional learning requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support for pupils with social, emotional, or behavioural needs.
Implement tailored strategies to help students manage behaviour and improve engagement.
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to deliver a holistic approach to support.
Promote positive relationships, emotional regulation, and a safe learning environment.
De-escalate challenging situations in line with behaviour policies and safeguarding guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, progress, and interventions.
Support reintegration of students into mainstream lessons where appropriate.
Essential Requirements:
Valid
Team Teach
or
PBLM
certification.
Previous experience working with young people in an educational or care setting.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Calm, patient, and proactive approach to behaviour support.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Desirable:
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or psychology.
