Job Description
Justteachers are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in Halifax. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with behavioural and emotional needs, helping them access learning and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with behavioural challenges in and out of the classroom Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to implement behaviour support plans Promote positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques Build trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a positive role model Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour Assist in creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment Be vigilant to safeguarding concerns and report appropriately
Requirements:
Experience working with children with behavioural or emotional needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, Team Teach) desirable Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one Legal right to work in the UK
