We are expanding our production team and have an immediate opportunity for a
skilled Bench Hand Joiner
to join our growing workshop.
Role Overview
As a Bench Hand Joiner, you will be responsible for the assembly and finishing of bespoke joinery items, retail display units, and furniture components. You'll work from technical drawings to produce high-quality finished pieces using a mix of traditional and modern woodworking techniques.
This role requires precision, attention to detail, and pride in craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture and assemble bespoke joinery items to specification.
Read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists.
Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.
Carry out detailed finishing work to ensure high-quality presentation.
Assist in maintaining workshop cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards.
Work collaboratively with the design and CNC teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Conduct quality checks to meet production and client expectations.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a
Bench Hand Joiner
or in a similar joinery/furniture making role.
Strong understanding of woodworking techniques and materials (MFC, MDF, solid wood, laminates, etc.).
Ability to read and work from CAD or technical drawings.
Competent use of hand tools, routers, saws, and other woodworking equipment.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider production team.
Understanding of workshop health & safety procedures.
Desirable but Not Essential
Experience in retail display manufacturing or bespoke furniture.
Knowledge of CNC processes or edge banding equipment.
Forklift counterbalance licence.
