The Role
We are seeking a skilled
Bench Joiner
with proven experience in manufacturing
timber windows and doors
to join our workshop team. You will be responsible for producing high-quality, bespoke joinery items from start to finish, working from detailed drawings and specifications to meet exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture traditional and contemporary
timber windows, doors, and frames
to precise measurements.
Interpret and work from technical drawings, cutting lists, and CAD designs.
Operate a range of woodworking machinery and hand tools to achieve accurate finishes.
Assemble components to exact tolerances, ensuring a high level of craftsmanship.
Undertake dry-fitting, glazing, and ironmongery preparation as required.
Work collaboratively with the workshop team to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment, adhering to health & safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
Minimum
3 years' experience
as a Bench Joiner, ideally within heritage, bespoke, or high-end joinery settings.
Strong knowledge of
traditional and modern window and door construction techniques
.
Ability to work accurately from technical drawings with excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency with woodworking machinery (e.g. spindle moulders, planers, thicknessers, mortisers) and hand tools.
Understanding of timber properties and finishing methods.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Desirable
Experience working on
listed or heritage buildings
.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Bench Joinery or equivalent qualification.
Knowledge of glazing systems and traditional joinery joints.
