Maxwells is a well-established, high-end furniture design and manufacturing company specialising in bespoke, handcrafted pieces for luxury homes and commercial spaces. Our reputation for quality and craftsmanship has made us a leader in the industry, and we are looking for a skilled Bespoke Furniture Maker to join our dynamic team.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bespoke Furniture Maker to produce custom -made furniture, work from detailed drawings, and assist with installations on site.
Experience working with large scale machinery is a requirement with CNC experience advantageous.
This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, with the need to be flexible during busy periods. You will be expected to work independently and collaborate with a team of trades to create high-quality, bespoke pieces for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Craft high-quality, bespoke furniture pieces according to detailed designs and client
specifications.
Read and interpret technical drawings and plans with precision.
Operate and maintain large woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
Work bothindependently and collaboratively with other team members to meet production schedules.
Be flexible to workovertime during busy periods, ensuring deadlines are met without
compromising quality.
Participate in on-site installations, ensuring seamless fitting and assembly of furniture in client spaces
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in bespoke furniture makingor a similar environment.
Proven ability to read and work on detailed technical drawings.
Strong experience with largewoodworking machinery and power tools. Excellent craftsmanship with a keen eye for detail and precision.
Ability to work well both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Experience with on-site furniture installations, with a strong understanding of fit and finish. Flexibility to adapt to workload demands and work additional hours when required
Desired Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, can-do attitude. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Knowledge of difterent wood types, finishes, and upholstery techniques is a plus
