Job Description


Our client are a national engineering and telecommunications contractor providing services incorporating the design, installation, and maintenance of telecoms, mechanical, electrical, fire detection and suppression systems, LED lighting, air cooling, and building services. They operate in sectors including retail, commerce, public services, and education.

They are recruiting for a Bid / Estimating Manager to join their energy division.

Duties to include:

  • Work as part of the estimating and design team.
  • Work closely with Contracts Managers and Procurement Team to ensure projects are tendered effectively and delivered on time and within budget.
  • Responsible for winning new tenders and bringing new projects to the business.
  • Present design plans to the project team using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Provide technical guidance, advice and bid support including involvement with tender programmes and methodologies.
  • Attend site visits where applicable to ascertain tender requirements.
  • Developing & maintaining good relationships with industry networks & clients
  • Ensure timely and robust bids are returned and all risk items, caveats are documented and discussed with the commercial lead.
  • Assist in the suitable procurement of materials, labour, and services from specialist sub-contractors / consultants i.e., improving price and service levels.
  • Collaborate with all other departments to assist you in your role to the benefit of the company - lead generation, other commercial managers, design, project management and accounts.
