Position: Proposal Manager
Location: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in Daventry)
Salary: \xc2\xa340,000-\xc2\xa345,000 DOE
Work Pattern: Monday-Friday. Day-time hours only.

The Bid Excellence Manager will have the day-to-day responsibility of working alongside key stakeholders to create \'winning\' bid responses for private / public sector opportunities. The remit extends across UK&I Sales for both new and existing customers.

We make promises to our customers, and we\'ll make promises to you too. The key responsibilities in this role include;

  • Lead and facilitate workshops (both in-person and online) to develop and review bespoke, opportunity-specific value propositions
  • Creation of proposal storyboards that support the articulation and delivery of the bid strategy, ensuring adherence to customer requirements where necessary
  • Development of the written proposal, focusing on the creation of bespoke content in addition to the customisation of bid library content
  • Design and creation of visually engaging content in support of written responses, both directly and in conjunction with internal graphic design teams
  • Lead and develop the creation of post-submission presentations (internal and external to the client)
  • Ensure the Voice of Customer is evident in the bid response and that proposed solutions and commercial approaches align with the value proposition created for the customer
  • Coordination and management of inputs from virtual bid teams consisting of multiple stakeholders. Typically involving contributions from business development, operations, solution design, IT, project delivery, commercial and legal.
  • Preparation of all review meeting materials and coordination of the close-out actions where required for individual tenders
  • Identification and ownership of projects to further the development of best practices within the Bid Excellence team
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with people at all levels within DSC UK&I up to board level.

  • Demonstrable skills within copy writing or other creative writing abilities (marketing, internal comms etc.)
  • Managing/creating bids (ideally gained within the Supply Chain / Logistics industry) or strong evidence of the key skillsets required attained through similar roles
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills, and a proficient user of Microsoft Office, preferably with advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, ADOBE and Excel
  • Understanding of key functions - incl. Solution Design/Operations/Finance in logistics is desired, previous experience of working in a sales environment would be advantageous
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of bid management and creation.
  • Ability to evidence links to the APMP (including certification) is desired
