As Venterra continues to expand, we are seeking a Bid Manager to join our Design & Advisory teams.
Our Design team:
The Venterra Design service line incorporates the design and analysis of foundations and substations for Floating and fixed Offshore Wind, Monopiles and Jackets, T&I, Onshore and Offshore substation design and Onshore Renewables.
Our Advisory team:
The Venterra Advisory service line incorporates those services which are offered to wind farm developers at the early DEVEX stages. Services such as Grid Advisory & Infrastructure Security, Development and Market Intelligence, Government Advisory, Business Case and Commercial Support, Due Diligence, Wind Resource & Energy Yield Analysis and Project & Package Management.
Role Description:
We are looking for a high performing Bid Manager to join our team at Venterra to help supercharge our growth. The right person is motivated, organised, collaborative and capable of juggling multiple priorities. The Bid Manager plays a critical role in coordinating the review, preparation and approval of complex engineering tenders.
Management and coordination of tender process to ensure on time delivery of high-quality tender submissions, ensuring that responsibility for technical submission is assigned and managed. Ensuring that the tender preparation process is well structured and those submitting elements know clearly what is expected and by when. Should be able to prioritize between small and large submission to ensure efficient use of contributor's time. Ability to work across sectors and identify where the bid team can add value to the client experience.
This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate expected to work from our Cork or Dublin office at least 3 days per week.
Key responsibilities will also include:
Management of bid preparation including understanding and summarising the tender's requirements and splitting scope into manageable elements for the technical team to provide contributions to the bid
Coordinating the definition of a win strategy for each tender response; and ensuring this gets effectively articulated through the tender response
Contributing prose to tender submissions and editing technical text to ensure a corporate voice and consistency across the tender document.
Management and reporting of the tender and opportunity register through a CRM system
Management of monthly CRM reporting
Calling, managing and reporting bid / no bid meetings
Single point of contact with client when bid conditions require it.
Coordinating presentations and the design of supporting collateral for major bids
Content development, document design and production
A strategic and hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership of bid requests to deliver a seamless experience for all of your stakeholders.
Management of multiple tenders in an organised and systematic manner
Ownership of tender portal entries; and responsibility for scanning portals to ensure Venterra inclusion in relevant scopes
Manage the format and layout of the response documents.
Ownership of tender template documents and tender library.
Assist the improvement of bid processes and associated best practice; and act as the internal champion for the tender process.
Implement a process of continual refinement and improvement of tender materials so that each tender learns and improves from the previous ones - including a formulaic approach to win / loss analysis
Proactively consult technical teams so that case studies and track record can be collected in a format suitable for inclusion in tenders.
Close collaboration with teams across the business as needed

Expertise required:
Previous experience coordination bids and tenders in a professional services environment (4+ years)
Relevant experience within renewable energy / engineering sector (2+ years).
Strong organisational skillset to guide and manage technical input to ensure on time quality submissions
Strong technical understanding in order to be able to effectively contribute to tender response development
Good interpersonal skills and teamworking ability
Strong experience drafting and coordinating complex tender responses.
Effective communication style (both written and verbal), with strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills across all levels
Proficient written skills with some exposure to proposal writing
Strong Microsoft computer skills, Adobe Creative Suite skills are favourable
Creative flair with an eye for good design
Attention to detail
Experience with a CRM system and ability to produce reports, charts and graphs to allow for analysis of data
Education/Qualifications and Competencies:
Ideally hold a relevant technical, business, marketing or language based degree, HND, HNC or similar with relevant experience
Willing and able to travel as required
Excellent verbal and written English
