To support further growth, we're recruiting for an experienced Bid Manager to be responsible for managing bids through the win-work lifecycle and successfully on to contract with our clients.You will be working closely with regional win work/technical leads and business development & the engagement team across AtkinsRealis UK+I to produce compelling bids. As a member of the central Bid Management team, you will also be responsible for contributing to the continuous improvement of our win-work capability (people, processes, tools, information and governance).


This role also comes with the opportunity to line manage a small team in the UK and India, maintaining a strong focus on career development and high performance to ensure efficient resourcing on smaller bid management activities.

Your purpose:




The Bid Manager will be responsible for the day to-day management of the bid during the capture, proposal preparation, post submission, and contract negotiation / handover phases of the bid, working under the direction of the Bid Director. The Bid Manager will develop the bid plan and be responsible for delivery of the bid on time and to budget, ensuring that the tender requirements are fully understood and communicated to the team, and for ensuring the submission of a compliant bid response. The Bid Manager will be the custodian of the bid process and shall ensure the bid satisfies the requirements of our win work business management system (BMS).

Responsible for managing the overall bid submission ensuring the bidding process is followed. Responsible for ensuring production of Quality Submission (engaging with graphics team). Work with Bid Director to develop bid programme. Produce the Capture Management Plan Toolkit. Leads Capture Activities, including the Go No Go process. Complete Project Risk Categorisation Tool (PRCT) to establish risk level. Ensure the bid proposition harmonises with known client needs (win themes). Engage with Client Director to ensure all relevant client intelligence is included in planning stage. Owner of Bid Management Plan. Plan out the bid meetings and workshops. Develop Communications Plan with Bid Director - produce a Briefing Paper for stakeholders. Develop Win Themes and SWOT analysis. Responsible for compliance with corporate bid processes. Develop engagement plan / positioning strategy with Client team. Take responsibility for bid production process. Single point of contact for client bid info. Manage/carry out research activities - support Market Sounding - either attend or understand output from bidder's day or client meeting to gain more information and position AtkinsRealis for the opportunity. Facilitate stakeholder/competitor analysis exercises. Responsible for management of deliverables, version controls. Responsible for resourcing of tender. Author key organisational responses to quality questions Use AI to improve and review quality responses Keeps Client Director informed and invited to all reviews and workshops. Working with the Commercial lead - develop risk register, co-ordinate commercial strategy paper. Post contract award, the Bid Manager is responsible for ensuring a detailed handover to the Project Manager.
