Job Description

Sales Tender Specialist/Bid Manager

About the Company

The company is an ambitious, independent, and rapidly growing organization with a Buy-&-Build strategy focused on testing, inspection, certification, and compliance (TICC). Its specialization enables organizations to innovate safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. With significant growth over the years, the company has become one of Europe's leading quality and safety specialists, employing over 5000 people across 150 locations. To date, the company has completed more than 80 acquisitions and operates across four divisions.

Dedicated to both organic growth and strategic acquisitions, the company builds partnerships that go beyond conventional approaches, ensuring that every project contributes to a shared, sustainable future. The organization offers its team members the opportunity to contribute to its mission while developing their careers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, creating impactful solutions for clients and a sustainable tomorrow.

Divisions

The company's expertise spans multiple specialized divisions: one division ensures food safety and quality, another safeguards buildings and infrastructure, a third supports environmental responsibility through scientific analysis and certification, and a fourth enhances compliance and innovation in the medical sector.

The Sustainability Division (where this role sits) includes 20 business units and operates in eight countries. This role will be responsible for the UK region of the Sustainability Division, which includes three separate companies.

Role

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for setting up the function, managing, and executing the tender process from start to finish, ensuring our offers are not only competitive and compliant but also compelling and clearly aligned with client needs. You will work closely with Business Unit Directors, Sales, Technical Experts, and Operational Leads to develop proposals that reflect both commercial excellence and technical accuracy. You will play a crucial role in winning new business and supporting the commercial growth of our laboratories.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full tender lifecycle: from identifying relevant tender opportunities to final submission and post-bid follow-up. Coordinate input from various departments to ensure accurate, complete, and timely submission of tender documents. Analyze client requirements, tender specifications, and evaluation criteria to optimize our offering and maximize scoring potential. Ensure alignment with the company's commercial and pricing strategy, including margin targets and strategic positioning. Maintain an up-to-date database of tender templates, standard answers, and documentation. Track tender results and feedback to continuously improve the quality of future submissions. Assist the commercial team in the onboarding process of newly awarded contracts, ensuring a smooth transition from tender to execution.

What you bring to the table:

A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, science, or a related field. Multiple years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a B2B service or technical environment. Familiarity with public and private tender processes in the UK (e.g., NHS, Frameworks, Private labs) is a strong advantage. Excellent English communication skills--written and verbal--with strong attention to detail. Commercial acumen: you understand the impact of pricing, terms, and value propositions. Strong project management and coordination skills. Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams. Experience with CRM and tender portals (e.g., Contracts Finder, Proactis) is a plus.

Why join us?

Be part of a fast-growing and international company with a clear sustainability mission. Work in a role with high visibility and strategic impact. Collaborate with experts across Europe to help shape the future of laboratory services. Enjoy flexibility, ownership, and room for personal and professional growth.
Ready to help us win the next tender? We look forward to receiving your application and welcoming you to the team!
