Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Bid Writer to join the Commercial team within De La Rue.


This role will focus on a project specifically supporting one of our key strategic customers. As part of this, the ideal candidate will combine writing and communication skills with strong organisational ability and attention to detail. You will work closely with the Bid Manager, Programme Manager, and Finance and Legal leads to ensure compliance in our bid and assist in the management of the overall timeline and key milestones essential for submission. The main area of focus will be to ensure our winning solutions are illustrated and articulated in the most effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:



Write clear, persuasive, and tailored content. Work alongside the Bid Manager to coordinate the bid response process, including gathering inputs from stakeholders. Ensure all documentation meets required formats, evaluation criteria, and deadlines. Maintain a library of pre-written content and support documentation. Ensure the tender response aligns with the organisation's strategy and capabilities. Lead the proposal writing process via initial workshops and regular updates with appropriate stakeholders to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood.

Working hours

: Full Time - 36.5 hrs per week (9am - 5:15pm Mon, 9am - 5pm Tues - Fri)

Skills, Qualifications & Experience



Proven experience in bid or proposal writing, preferably in a government or regulated environment. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Ability to understand complex technical or legal information and translate it into clear language. Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office packages. Experience using MS Visio, Adobe InDesign, or Illustrator an advantage. Able to work to tight deadlines in high pressure situations. Commercial awareness. Strong team working and interpersonal skills. APMP certification or similar (preferred but not essential).
