Bike Mechanic

Dunblane, SCT, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Thanks for taking a look at this opportunity with Deviate Cycles.

Do you take pride in getting the details right?

Can you build a bike like it's your own - and wouldn't dream of cutting corners?

Do you like working with your hands, staying organised, and being part of a small but driven team?

Are you happiest when things run smoothly and every box that goes out the door is packed just right?

If you're nodding along, then our new role in Kinbuck, near Dunblane, might be exactly what you're looking for.

Who we are

At Deviate Cycles, we design and manufacture high-performance mountain bikes with a focus on innovation, reliability and a bit of healthy Scottish stubbornness when it comes to doing things properly. We work closely with riders to push the boundaries of bike design - and we're proud of the bikes we send out the door. That's where you come in.

What's the job?

We need someone to help us assemble bikes to a high standard and get them packed and dispatched with care. It's hands-on, physical work - but satisfying if you like seeing a job well done.

What your day-to-day might look like:

Building bikes from the frame up - drivetrains, suspension, brakes, finishing kit, the lot. Running pre-delivery safety and quality checks before anything ships out. Keeping the workshop clean and organised - tools where they should be, parts accounted for. Spotting and reporting any issues with components or builds. We don't do half-measures. Packing bikes for courier dispatch so they turn up looking as good as they left. Keeping dispatch records tidy and stock levels for packing materials in check. Jumping in with general workshop tasks - receiving deliveries, counting stock, helping the team out.

What kind of person are we looking for?

You might already work in a bike shop, or maybe you're mechanically-minded and keen to work in the bike industry. Either way, here's what helps:

You're comfortable with tools and not fazed by mechanical tasks. You care about getting it right - from torque settings to packing tape. You can stay organised and juggle a few different tasks on the go. You're as happy working on your own as you are mucking in with the rest of the team.

Nice to have (but not essential):

Cytech or similar qualifications Experience with bleeding brakes or setting up suspension Familiarity with courier systems or stock management software

The practical stuff:

Full-time, based at our HQ in Kinbuck (just outside Dunblane) Competitive salary depending on experience Staff discount on bikes and accessories On-the-job training and development A small, bike-mad team who take what they do seriously - but not themselves

Ready to get involved?

If you're looking for a role where you can take pride in the work, get hands-on with top-end bikes, and be part of a growing brand, we'd love to hear from you.
