FourNet is hiring a Billing Assistant to join our friendly, busy commercial team based at our Manchester head quarters. The ideal candidate for this Billing Assistant role will have previous experience of working in a role of this nature and will have a good eye for detail and conscientious approach to work.

Billing Assistant

Role Overview



As a Billing Assistant at FourNet, you will support the end-to-end billing process for our telecoms products and services -- ensuring accurate invoicing, timely revenue capture, and excellent customer service. You will work cross-functionally with finance, sales, provisioning, and customer support teams to maintain billing data integrity and resolve billing-related queries.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Invoicing



Prepare and generate customer invoices. Validate billing data, including rates, service activation dates, discounts and contract terms before invoicing. Assist with monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc billing cycles to ensure deadlines are met. Upload and reconcile call detail records (CDRs) and usage reports. Ensure accuracy of recurring and one-off charges.

Data Management & Reconciliation



Maintain customer billing accounts within CRM, ERP or billing platforms. Perform regular data checks to identify discrepancies or missing information. Reconcile revenue, usage data and service inventories with network and provisioning teams. Support audits and financial reporting by providing accurate billing information.

Query Resolution & Customer Support



Handle customer billing enquiries via email or phone in a professional, timely manner. Investigate billing disputes and provide clear explanations or corrections. Liaise with internal departments to resolve issues affecting billing accuracy (e.g. provisioning delays, incorrect tariffs).

Compliance & Process Improvement



Ensure compliance with billing policies, regulatory requirements and internal controls. Identify inefficiencies in billing processes and suggest improvements. Maintain documentation of billing procedures and workflows.
Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills



Good understanding of telecom billing processes, tariffs and usage-based charging. Proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation). Experience with telecom billing systems (e.g. Abillity, Billing Central) is an advantage. Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM is a plus.

Soft Skills



Excellent communication and customer-service attitude. Highly organised with the ability to meet strict deadlines. Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to analyse data. Team player with a proactive approach.

Qualifications & Experience



Previous experience in billing, finance, accounts, or telecom operations is desirable. Experience in telecommunications or IT services is preferred but not mandatory.
