The Billing Manager is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely generation of customer invoices across the Nasstar service lines

The ideal candidate will be tenacious, highly detail-oriented, and confident in challenging legacy processes that require reengineering to support a scalable, automated finance function.

Billing Accuracy -

>98% of invoices issued without error or dispute.

Timeliness -

All invoices issued within agreed billing cycles and SLAs.

Process Efficiency -

Reduction in manual billing tasks and cycle time through automation.

Issue Resolution -

Billing queries resolved within SLA; minimal escalations.

Team Performance -

High engagement, clear development plans, and achievement of KPIs.

Audit Readiness -

Clean audit outcomes with complete billing documentation and controls.

Process Reengineering -

Legacy processes redesigned and replaced with scalable, automated solutions.

Stakeholder Feedback -

Positive feedback from internal teams and external customers


Key Responsibilities



Daily & Month Responsibilities Billing Operations


Lead the day-to-day billing operations, ensuring all customer invoices are accurate, timely, and aligned with contractual terms.
Manage the billing cycle across multiple revenue streams, including recurring services, usage- based billing, and project-based work.
Ensure all billing data is validated and reconciled with service delivery and contract records.

Accuracy & Assurance




Work closely with the Revenue Assurance and Commercial Finance teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure completeness of billing.
Maintain a robust control environment, ensuring audit trails and documentation are complete and compliant.
Monitor billing KPIs and proactively address root causes of errors or delays.

Process Improvement & Reengineering




Identify and challenge inefficient or manual billing processes, proposing and implementing reengineered solutions.
Collaborate with IT, operations, and transformation teams to automate billing workflows and improve data integration.
Support the implementation of new billing platforms or enhancements to existing systems.

Team Leadership




Lead, coach, and develop a team of billing specialists to deliver high performance and continuous improvement.
Set clear objectives, monitor KPIs, and conduct regular performance reviews. Foster a culture of ownership, accuracy, and customer service within the team.

Stakeholder Collaboration




Partner with Sales, Service Delivery, and Customer Success teams to ensure billing aligns with customer contracts and service milestones.
Act as the escalation point for complex billing queries or disputes.


Support the Head of Operational Finance in delivering a scalable, efficient billing function

Annual Responsibilities


Ensure compliance of all accounting standards (UK GAAP & IFRS), internal controls, policies and practices.




Other





Ensure cover for all responsibilities within the team.
Responsible for and support any request for information for audit and other external requirements as necessary.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise



Essential:

Proven experience in billing, revenue operations, or order-to-cash processes, ideally in a team lead or supervisory role. Strong understanding of billing systems, controls, and revenue recognition principles. Confident in challenging the status quo and driving process change. Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP or billing platforms. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in a technology, telecoms, or managed services environment. Familiarity with usage-based or subscription billing models. Exposure to finance transformation or billing system implementations
