Job Description

We are requesting a BIM Coordinator / Modeller role to maintain the Shaft and headhouse live. This role is critical to ensure the continuous update and coordination of the design model, integrating field changes, as-built records, and supplier inputs in accordance with the client.

The client is constructing 13 miles of twin-bore tunnels on a major route to its southern terminus at Euston. The tunnels are built using 7 state-of-the-art tunnel boring machines (TBMs), one was used to construct the logistics tunnel.

The tunnels are built using different construction techniques to suit their purpose and local conditions. A green tunnel is where a trench is excavated and roofed over, and the land on top is blended into the landscape. A twin-bore tunnel is where two parallel tunnels, each containing a single rail track, are constructed using tunnel boring machines (TBMs).

Overview


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented BIM Modeler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and managing Building Information Models (BIM) that facilitate the design, construction, and operation of various projects. This role requires proficiency in a range of software tools and a strong understanding of construction processes. The BIM Modeller will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure accurate and efficient model development.

Responsibilities



Develop detailed 3D models using software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather project requirements and specifications. Create and manage BIM models for various stages of the project lifecycle, from concept through to construction. Conduct clash detection using NavisWorks to identify potential conflicts in designs. Prepare schematics and documentation to support project delivery. Utilise Civil 3D for site grading and civil engineering modelling tasks. Assist in the integration of models with other software tools such as SketchUp and SolidWorks. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices in BIM methodologies. Ensure compliance with project timelines and quality standards.

Requirements



Proficiency in BIM software including Revit, AutoCAD, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, MicroStation, SketchUp, and SolidWorks. Strong understanding of CAD principles and construction processes. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. Relevant qualifications in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field are preferred but not essential. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
