Based in Avonmouth, Plant-Ex ingredients in an international company specialising in the manufacture of Natural Food Ingredient Solutions, supplying across the globe either directly through our own facilities or through a number of selected distribution partners.

We specialise in spray drying food colourings and flavours as well as production of liquid food colours, flavours and extracts.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our blending team!

The Blending Operatives are responsible for the efficient and accurate blending of ingredients in the food production process. The role involves operating blending equipment, ensuring proper handling of raw materials, adhering to quality standards, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Main responsibilities

The blending team are responsible for loading different powdered ingredients into blending machines and then unloading them through a sieve into bags.

This is a physically demanding role which will involve lifting 25KG bags during loading and unloading.

Palletising the sacks once unloaded and transferring to the finished goods area.

Housekeeping of the Blending areas and other areas of the factory as instructed by the Blending Supervisor.

Operate blending equipment to mix raw materials and ingredients according to production recipes and specifications.

Ensure all ingredients are measured and blended correctly to meet the required product specifications.

Monitor the blending process to ensure the correct consistency and quality of the mixture

Conduct regular checks to verify the quality of blended products.

Report any inconsistencies or issues to the supervisor and take corrective action as needed.

Ensure all blending activities meet health and safety standards as well as company quality control guidelines.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety standards and regulations.

Follow all hygiene procedures to prevent contamination.

Regularly clean and maintain blending equipment as part of routine housekeeping duties.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to health and safety protocols.

Participate in audits and inspections when required.

Blending Operative role is working 40 hours (full-time) per week - Monday to Friday 07.30 a.m - 4.00 p.m

- based in our warehouse at Unit 23, Access 18, Avonmouth

You will be involved in all the aspects of the operating role, and we provide full training. We are looking for driven people who want to get involved and succeed in our fast-paced and growing company.

You need to have basic reading and writing skills for recording batch numbers, and basic computer skills for sending emails.

You need to be physically fit and be able to lift 25kg comfortably

. FLT licence would be an advantage but not necessary.
