The following document defines the roles and responsibilities of the Blending Team Leader who reports to the Blending Supervisor. Working hours 1pm - 10pm.
Responsibilities
Supervision and Production:
On a day-to-day basis, supervise and organise a team of Production Operatives and manage their activities and performance, providing support, as necessary.
Communicate and work with the Production Manager on daily matters to schedule productions and set goals, both short-term and long-term.
Identify and monitor training needs and opportunities within your team. Support with providing relevant training as required.
Conduct a variety of HR activities including, but not limited to, absence management, training, development, reviews, recruitment and disciplinaries.
Conduct monthly one-to-one job reviews within your team.
Liaise with the Production Manager to manage holiday requirements.
Liaise with the Production Manager regarding agency staff, ensuring that cover levels are sufficient and in-line with approved requirements.
Weekly meetings with your team to provide updates and get feedback.
Actively support and engage with team members in all activities to build team trust and respect, and participation in achieving common goals.
Attendance at meetings when required.
Participation in projects when required.
Closely supervise and carry out inductions for new and temporary staff employed on your shift.
Ensure productions are carried out according to instructions and paperwork.
Be responsible for ensuring and monitoring that all paperwork and labelling is completed accurately and correctly, inclusive of the double-check sign-off procedure.
Work alongside the Production Manager and Financial Controller to monitor and report on KPIs for your shift.
Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, and lead by example at all times.
Identify changes to working methods and processes to improve quality and efficiency with a view to reducing waste and costs.
Ensure your team are maintaining compliance against internal and customer audit requirements.
Liaise closely with other departments including the Warehouse, Quality and Account Managers to ensure effective communication and planning.
Hygiene, Quality, Food Safety and Health & Safety
Ensure that goods levels of hygiene are maintained by all personnel and in all processing areas, as well as the warehouse and the yard.
Ensure good manufacturing procedures are employed at all times.
Ensure Clean As You Go is being applied.
Ensure the Storefast Solutions Operating Procedure is adhered to at all times.
Champion food safety by ensuring food safety procedures are applied throughout the production process.
Monitoring and maintaining the HACCP process, ensuring the CCPs are properly monitored and recorded.
Conduct product testing including HPLC analysis as required.
Oversee and ensure safe working procedures are adopted in all aspects of work on site in accordance with Health and Safety legislation.
Assist with producing and reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Monitor hygiene in the production areas during your shift, resolving or reporting any issues.
Ensure no contaminated, incorrect or degraded ingredients are used. If this occurs, stop production immediately and report it either to your Production Supervisor and/or the Production Manager and Quality Manager.
Ensure all ingredients are being handled and stored in a food safe manner and in accordance with Storefast Solutions' policies and procedures.
Ensure all equipment, machinery and tanks are cleaned properly and according to procedure; failure/shortages/errors are to be reported to the Production Manager and Engineering Manager.
Conduct equipment checks as required, including forklift pre-use checks.
Follow the company procedures for Health and Safety at all times.
