BoConcept Birmingham

is based at Cookes Furniture on the borders of Sutton Coldfield / Erdington and covers the West Midlands.

We are seeking an additional Furniture Delivery & Assembly Expert to join our team.

This is initially a

part-time, self-employed (or contracted) role

, daytime only, typically 2 to 3 days a week which will suit someone needing flexible work.

The role

The delivery of packaged or flat pack furniture to customers homes To assemble flatpack pieces (likes sideboards) and set up major pieces (like modular sofas) following instructions with manual or power tools. The lifting, carrying and and manoeuvring large items safely and carefully during delivery and installation. To maintain a clean and organised work environment at the warehouse, in the vehicle and at customers homes. To be very conscious of the importance of customer service and always focusing on maintaining good relationships with customers and colleagues. To receive deliveries at our warehouse, check manifests and store furniture properly. To assist in delivering and setting up displays within our showroom. To remove rubbish from customers homes / our warehouse and dispose of according to regulations. To be happy working alone or as part of a two-person team Adhere to all safety protocols while driving and handling furniture.

About you

You are highly skilled in in furniture installation / flat pack assembly. You are a 'problem solver' with strong communication skills and a positive attitude. You are proud of the quality of your work - and know how important this is to customers. You are organised and are good at route planning and maintaining record's of your work. You enjoy being on the road and are happy working alone / or in a team. You possess a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points. You have at least 7 years driving experience, ideally including more than a year of driving a van. You are physically fit and capable to perform lifting & carrying safely. You know how to package and safely transport high value goods. You are normally available between 0900 and 1600 three days a week - with one of these to be a Friday. You live within 30 minutes of Erdington B23 5PN. As this role involves working in peoples homes you would be willing to undertake a DBS check.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and take pride in delivering exceptional service to customers.

It also offers personal flexibility in that the majority of our installations are Wednesday to Friday between 10am & 4pm and normally within 50 miles of Birmingham.

There is a possibility this role could become full time in 2026.
