We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Back of House (BOH) Team Members to join our iconic Heavenly Desserts store in York City Centre. Our team includes FOH / Waiting Staff and BOH / kitchen team members. As a key part of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive delicious, high-quality meals and drinks in a timely manner, and also assist in Front of House (FOH) tasks as needed.

Job Summary and Mission:

To create the Heavenly Desserts experience for our guests by providing courteous, prompt service, quality beverages and desserts, and maintaining a clean and comfortable restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Breakfast & Brunch Preparation:

Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast and brunch dishes, ensuring they meet our high standards for taste and presentation.

Dessert Creation:

Assist in the preparation and presentation of dessert items, following recipes and maintaining consistency in flavour and appearance.

Drink Preparation:

Prepare a range of beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies, and other drinks, ensuring each is made to order with care.

Shop Opening & Closing:

Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is ready for use, and cleaning up at the end of the day.

Maintaining Cleanliness:

Keep the kitchen and prep areas clean and organized, following all food safety regulations and best practices.

Inventory Management:

Assist in monitoring stock levels and notifying the team when supplies need to be ordered.

Upholding Compliance:

Followinghealth and safety, food safety guidelines, following policies and procedures and maintaining a spotlessly clean working environment.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred. Strong attention to detail and a passion for food and drink. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Flexibility to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Have you worked in a dessert kitchen before? If not, what other kitchen experience do you have? How do you make sure every dessert leaving the kitchen is consistent in taste and appearance? As a team member, you will be required to do some FOH work too. Are you comfortable serving customers? Due to the nature of our business, we require our team members to work around 2-3 closing shifts per week which end around 11:30pm. Are you able to get home safely at that time of night?
