We are a small but growing construction company with a friendly and professional team. To support our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial records and ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will be confident working independently and have a strong understanding of bookkeeping and financial procedures. You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing invoices, processing payments, and preparing reports to support our accountant and management team.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records using Xero
Process sales and purchase invoices
Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Assist with payroll data
Liaise with our external accountant as needed
Keep track of cash flow and assist with budgeting
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
Ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
Trustworthy, professional, and discreet
Desirable:
AAT qualification or equivalent
Experience working with small businesses
