About the Role



We are seeking an organised, detail-driven Bookkeeper / Credit Controller to take ownership of our day-to-day financial administration and customer accounts. This is a key role within our business, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, smooth cashflow, and professional customer communication regarding payments.

You'll work closely with our management team to maintain accurate financial records, oversee invoicing, monitor debtor balances, and ensure timely payments--all while delivering excellent service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities



Bookkeeping

Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Process purchase invoices, sales invoices, receipts, and payments Perform monthly bank reconciliations Prepare and submit VAT returns Manage supplier accounts and payment runs Support month-end and year-end processes Produce financial reports for management as required
Credit Control

Monitor accounts receivable and outstanding balances Send statements, reminders, and follow-up correspondence Engage with customers professionally to resolve overdue accounts Negotiate payment arrangements when necessary Maintain accurate debtor notes and communication logs Escalate problematic accounts to management when required

Skills & Experience Required



Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Credit Controller, or similar financial role Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and accounting principles Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms Excellent communication and customer-handling skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills Knowledge of VAT processes (advantageous)
