Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly management accounts for Douglas Willis Limited and three associated businesses
Monthly journals (i.e. accruals, prepayments, depreciation etc) and maintenance of fixed asset registers
Year-end accounts preparation for Douglas Willis Limited and associated companies in readiness for external accountants
Liaise with external accountants for queries re year end accounts and tax
Stock take reconciliations and monthly stock journals
VAT returns preparation and submission
P11D preparation and submission
Payroll and NEST pension processing and submission
Directors personal tax affairs and self-assessment preparation for external accountants
Point of contact for HMRC queries and other external queries e.g. Office for National Statistics surveys
Ensuring all HMRC payments regarding tax, VAT etc are made in a timely manner
Other ad hoc queries which may arise
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, AAT Level 3) is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of bookkeeping experience in a senior role.
Proven experience in managing financial records and preparing reports.
Proficiency in accounting software including Xero and QuickBooks is essential.
