Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper / Company Accountant to join a growing and dynamic team. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and ensuring the smooth operation of all financial processes.
The successful candidate will take ownership of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting, working closely with management and other departments to provide timely and reliable financial information.
Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update financial records using accounting software (preferably Xero).
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded.
  • Support with budgeting and forecasting as required.
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide documentation during annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal company policies.
  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns, tax filings, and other statutory submissions.
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Assistant Accountant, or Company Accountant.
  • Proficiency in Xero (experience with Sage or QuickBooks advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and general accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
