About the Role
We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team at Finest Foods Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing our day-to-day financial operations as we expand our presence across the UK.
The successful candidate will handle bookkeeping activities, including ledger management, invoice logging, payment reconciliation, and credit control, and keep our records accurate in QuickBooks Online. You'll work closely with company management and directors, playing an important role in maintaining accurate financial records that support smooth cash flow and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Own accounts receivable: post sales invoices, issue monthly statements, chase overdue balances, maintain debtor records, and escalate per credit policy; help set and review credit limits.
Manage accounts payable: process supplier invoices, match to POs/delivery notes (where applicable), reconcile supplier statements, and prepare weekly payment runs.
Process staff expenses and company purchases, ensuring valid VAT documentation.
Process and log *supplier invoices, and company purchases Maintain organised digital and physical filing systems for financial records
Support management with financial reporting (aged debtors/creditors, cash flow updates, invoice status etc.)
Liaise with suppliers, customers, and accountants to resolve any finance-related queries
General office administration where required
Skills & Experience Required
Experience in a bookkeeping or finance assistant role
Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable and credit control
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (or similar software)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a small team environment
Desirable
