We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented
Bookkeeper
to support the financial operations of
OptiCare and AudioCare
, a growing healthcare group with multiple clinic locations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting day-to-day financial management. This position is ideal for someone with strong bookkeeping experience, excellent attention to detail, and confidence working with accounting software.
This role offers flexibility, with the option to be based at either our
Lisburn Road
or
Crumlin
clinic, depending on the candidate's location. We anticipate the role will require
approximately two days onsite per week
, with flexibility around working patterns.
Responsibilities
Maintain, update, and organise financial records using accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero).
Process
accounts payable and receivable
, ensuring timely, accurate recording of all transactions.
Manage and
reconcile bank accounts
, card payments, standing orders, and other payment methods across multiple clinic locations.
Oversee
payment of supplier invoices
, ensuring correct authorisation and timely settlement.
Assist with
payroll preparation
, working with management to ensure staff are paid accurately and on time.
Handle
employee expense claims
and ensure all documentation is properly recorded.
Prepare routine
financial reports
, summaries, and cashflow insights for management.
Support
month-end and year-end closing procedures
.
Liaise with our external accountant by providing requested documentation, reports, and explanations during audits or financial reviews.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and best practices.
Contribute to the smooth financial running of OptiCare and AudioCare by proactively managing queries, identifying discrepancies, and implementing efficient processes.
Experience & Skills
Proven experience as a
Bookkeeper
or in a similar finance role.
Strong proficiency with accounting software including
QuickBooks
,
Sage
, and
Xero
.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and standard bookkeeping practices.
Experience with
accounts payable/receivable
,
bank reconciliations
, and general ledgers.
Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team.
Previous experience supporting audits or liaising with external accountants is desirable.
Strong communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
Additional Details
Work Location:
Lisburn Road or Crumlin (flexible based on candidate's location).
Onsite Requirement:
