The Role

We are seeking an experienced and trustworthy bookkeeper to support our ministry by maintaining accurate financial records and helping to ensure good stewardship of church resources.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Process income, donations, and expenses in accordance with church policies. Reconcile bank accounts and assist in preparing finance reports for the PCC. Manage payroll, pension contributions and expense reimbursements. Assist with annual budgeting and year-end financial statements. Ensure compliance with relevant charity, tax and financial regulations. Support the Treasurer / Finance Committee and provide clear financial information as required.

Qualifications and Skills

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting in a charity (ideally church) environment. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Prior experience of MyFundAccounting desirable but not essential. Strong attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Understanding of church finances and commitment to ethical stewardship. Alignment with the Christian values and mission of the church.

Pay: 22.00-28.00 per hour
