We are seeking a meticulous, organised Bookkeeper to join our estate agency team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records related to our property portfolio, managing client monies, reconciling accounts, and providing insightful reporting on building expenses and financial performance. Experience with Xero is essential.
Responsibilities
Maintain and update accurate financial records for property transactions, lease agreements, and client accounts
Manage and reconcile clientmonies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
Reconcile bank and client accounts regularly to ensure accuracy
Process supplier and contractor payments promptly and accurately
Prepare detailed reports on building expenses, service charges, and other property-related costs
Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting and budgeting processes
Support year-end financial statements and audit preparations
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and industry standards
Collaborate with property managers, leasing agents, and other departments to deliver financial insights and support operational decision-making
Requirements
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role within estate agency or property management
Proficiency in Xero accounting software
Experience with client monies, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance
Strong understanding of managing building expenses, service charges, and financial reporting
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities effectively
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Relevant qualification in accounting, finance, or property management is preferred but not essential
