We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes within the organisation. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records by recording all transactions in the accounting system.
Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
Prepare and submit VAT returns.
Handle the full payroll cycle using
Xero payroll
, including calculating wages, deductions, and pensions.
Assist with monthly management accounts, and preparation of end-of-year accounts.
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in financial reporting.
Maintain HR records and general office admin
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting environment.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with team members and external stakeholders.
A relevant qualification in finance or accounting such as AAT would be advantageous.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 24,500.00-27,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
