We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join our GP Surgery. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and stock control. This role is based at our surgery in Cookham and the hours can be worked over Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Duties
Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as Xero
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is up-to-date
Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies
Collaborate with external accountants audits and provide necessary documentation
Maintain and manage stock control of medical supplies for the surgery
Requirements
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an organisation
Proficiency in accounting software including Xero
Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger processes
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Qualified AAT bookkeeping level 2
Previous experience within the NHS or General Practice is desirable but not essential
