OCL Accountancy is a well-established practice based just south of Bath city centre. Founded in 1988, we have grown steadily and now serve a diverse client base across London and the South. We specialise in supporting owner-managed businesses with their corporate and tax affairs, while also assisting personal tax clients with compliance and proactive planning in areas such as wealth management, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax.
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a motivated school leaver to join our team as a Trainee Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a school leaver looking to begin a career in accountancy. The successful candidate will be enrolled in the AAT Level 3 qualification and gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with bookkeeping for a variety of clients using cloud-based accounting software
Support the preparation and processing of client payrolls
Contribute to the preparation of limited company accounts
Assist with financial analysis and data reconciliation
Support the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
Liaise with clients and internal team members to ensure timely and accurate service delivery
What We're Looking For
A recent school leaver with strong GCSEs and/or A-Levels (especially in Accounting, Maths, or Business)
A genuine interest in accountancy and finance
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Basic IT proficiency, particularly in Excel and Word

Subject to successful completion of AAT Level 4 and business needs, further training may be agreed on a case-by-case basis
