We are a friendly, well-established business based in Burnage, Manchester, looking for an experienced and reliable Bookkeeper and Wages Clerk to join our office team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a supportive environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
Process weekly and/or monthly payroll
Prepare and submit PAYE and pension contributions
Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Prepare VAT returns
Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants
Maintain confidentiality and data integrity at all times
General administrative support as required
Requirements:
Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll processing
Proficiency in accounting software Sage
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC procedures
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
