Role Summary



We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeping Manager to lead a newly established team with our Central Services function. This role is integral to ensuring we have an effective Bookkeeping Service that enables our accounts production runs as efficiently as possible.

The role holds responsibility in a number of key areas such as; Overseeing the delivery of our centralised Bookkeeping service including its quality and effectiveness, managing and monitoring resource within the team, ensuring that bookkeeping is delivered in a timely manner, liaising with our onboarding team and client managers to anticipate future needs for bookkeeping services from new or existing clients and providing some support where required to our onboarding team.

Key Responsibilities



Centralised Bookkeeping Service



Supporting the set up of the centralised bookkeeping function which includes documenting associated processes, managing the flow of work into this new service, setting, service standards and measures of success The completion of more complex bookkeeping where required and / or training within the team to ensure other team members can absorb more complex tasks Identification of and monitoring of the resources and capacity required within the team to deliver the service Overseeing and allocating work to ensure agreed timelines are deliver Monitoring the quality of work delivered and addressing any training requirements of the team both initially and on an ongoing basis Producing relevant reporting and actively monitoring KPI's to ensure that the service is running effectively and delivers commercially.

Apprenticeship and Training Support



Given that the Bookkeeping service is a great place to help us grow our future talent, you will be required to support our apprentices through their programme as well as identify and address any training gaps across the whole bookkeeping team;

Develop a deep understanding of the apprenticeship journey and what work they need exposure to on this journey Develop and manage an internal training plan for the apprentices ensuring that they get the right training to support the successful delivery of their role Working alongside the Academy Programme owner to ensure that relevant training is given to the apprentices to further enhance their skillset Recruit and onboard future apprenticeship cohorts as well as our bookkeeping colleagues in our offshore team Actively monitor training needs within the bookkeeping team as part of your responsibility to manage quality. Address any training needs on an ongoing basis.

Team Leadership & Development



Strong management experience is required for this role to ensure that our team have the right support and direction to help them thrive. You will be required to manage people through our established performance management framework ensuring that they have both clarity on their role and their development goals too.

KEY SKILLS



AAT Level 4 minimum or Equivalent experience Strong experience in Accounting software such as Xero, Dext, Chaser, Modulr, Telleroo Experience of working in Accounting Practice Ability to effectively manage and lead a team Strong attention to detail Ability to adapt to and use the latest technology Strong Communication and Management skills Strong organisational and priorisation skills The ability to form strong relationships internally and externally

PREFERRED SKILLS



Experience of managing and leading offshore team members Knowledge of Taxcalc or similar Accounting software Project delivery experience Experience of working with apprentices or apprenticeship programmes

Salary: Up to 40k dependent on experience
