Wyeside is currently looking for a Box Office Assistant/Projectionist to join our team.
The successful candidate will need to have great communication skills, be a team player, have a friendly persona, be able to follow instruction, have a flexible approach to their working hours, stay calm under pressure and have a great sense of humour!
Responsibilities
Projectionist
The principal responsibility of the Projectionist is to show films on time and deal with any unforeseen problems that arise with the projectors/screenings. The Projectionist is also an active member of the front of house team and helps cover the bar and stock the bar area. The Projectionist liaises with the Duty Manager to ensure screenings run with efficiency.
Turning up on time and being ready to start the screenings on time.
Learning all areas of projecting and undertaking any training necessary.
Liaising with Duty Manager/FOH staff to ensure the smooth running of a screening.
Informing the Duty Manager of any problems which arise.
To ensure the safety of the general public and the security of the theatre and its properties in accordance with Wyeside's licence and health & safety policies.
To familiarise yourself with the building and be aware of fire exits, usher's seats and disabled seating. Ensure all fire doors are closed while main film is being screened.
To assist the Duty Manager in the event of an evacuation.
To serve on the bar and restock the bar.
To assist with cleaning the auditoriums between films.
To attend occasional staff meetings and training sessions which may take place outside normal working hours. This will be paid at your normal hourly rate.
To deliver the highest standards of customer service, care and satisfaction at all times.

Box Office Assistant
The principal responsibility of a Box Office Assistant is to offer a high level of service in a friendly and efficient manner, both in person and over the phone. It is important to familiarise yourself with Wyeside's schedule so that you are able to deal with customer queries appropriately.
To maximise sales of tickets by phone, across the counter and via email, upselling where appropriate.
To deliver the highest standards of customer service, care and satisfaction at all times
To act as first point of contact on the phone or in person for members of the public, hirers, performers, contractors, suppliers, potential customers, and any other visitors to the Wyeside. Handling enquires face to face, by phone, email and social media.
To become knowledgeable about the way the company operates in order to refer enquiries to the appropriate member of staff
To correctly operate Ticketsolve (the computerised Box Office system), capturing patrons' details at point of purchase
To follow up customer queries in order to resolve any problems
To keep informed of relevant theatre activities including forthcoming events, box office procedures and theatre policy
To assist with cleaning, ushering and bar sales
To comply with all venue security systems and measures and to make every effort to ensure that all cash is always kept secure and within the venue's established system.
At all times to carry out responsibilities regarding Health & Safety Policy and Equal Opportunities Policy.
To attend occasional staff meetings, fire evacuations and training sessions which may take place outside normal working hours
To undertake appropriate training as required by and agreed with the General Manager.
To undertake all such other tasks as may be necessary, from time to time, to ensure the efficient and profitable running of the business.
Requirements
The minimum age requirement for this role is 18.
Friendly and approachable demeanour.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritising effectively.
Strong communication skills..
A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn.
Weekend work would be required, and hours worked increase in school holiday time, the majority of the work would be in the evening and at weekends.
You will be required to attend quarterly Box Office/Volunteers meeting (usually on a Monday evening). These are paid at your normal hourly rate.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
You must be available to start training immediately after interview dates.
