Box Office Assistant - The Core - Solihull



Part Time - 7.5 hours per week




This post will be required to work Friday 9am - 2.45pm and one evening per week (to include a Friday or Saturday).


The Core is a thriving multi-purpose arts venue in the heart of Solihull town centre, located in Theatre square adjacent to Touchwood. Comprising a main Theatre, smaller multi-use Studio, Cafe Bar and Courtyard Gallery exhibition space.


The busy venue hosts a varied mix of professional and amateur events including music, drama, comedy and dance. Events are held almost every night, ranging local drama groups to nationally touring promoters who find The Core a thriving, successful venue with loyal and supportive audiences. We also offer a highly successful seasonal pantomime show and a programme of daytime weekly classes and activities.


The venues' Encore Cafe Bar serves hot and cold lunches, offers a fully stocked bar and a full catering function for events and conferences.


The Box Office, located within the main foyer of The Core, Solihull's flagship community building is the frontline for the venue for ticket sales and information on all of our performances, events and activities.


We are seeking a new member of staff to work part timeto join our existing flexible and friendly team of permanent and casual staff, providing the high standards of service expected by our patrons. The successful applicant will be IT literate, have knowledge of a ticketing system (or equivalent software), knowledge of cash handling, accurate data input and have excellent customer service skills, preferably in a public counter-type environment.


An interest in the Arts is preferable but not essential. Full training will be given for all duties including ticketing and banking duties.
