Job Summary


The BPO Payroll Supervisor is responsible for leading a team within the Business Process Outsourcing Payroll function, ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant service delivery. This role provides operational oversight, acts as a key escalation point, resolves complex issues and supports the Payroll Manager in delivering departmental objectives and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities



Service Delivery
- Lead and manage a team to deliver high-quality payroll and outsourced services within agreed timescales and SLAs.
- Support client onboarding and service transitions
- Oversee daily operations, workload allocation, and performance monitoring
- Act as a first point of escalation for complex queries, ensuring timely and compliant resolution.

Team Leadership and Development
- Lead the development and growth of the payroll processing team, ensuring skill-building, knowledge sharing, and ongoing professional development
- Establish and maintain quality standards across the payroll process
- Mentor and guide team members to ensure a consistent and high-quality service is maintained
- Promote professional standards and foster a positive team culture

Payroll Compliance and Process Expertise
- Ensure compliance with UK payroll regulations
- Understand the design of the solution that we are running to ensure that best practices are maintained in payroll management, taxation, and reporting

Client Engagement and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Maintain, promote and enhance customer relationships
- Contribute to process improvements, efficiency gains, and automation initiatives.

User Support and Change Management
- Develop training materials for payroll administrators and users
- Develop knowledge base for Payroll queries

Product Development and Innovation
- Collaborate with product management to provide insights from running payroll services
- Suggest product enhancements and contribute to the development of new features
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in payroll processing

Compliance and Risk Management
- Stay current on payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory compliance

Adhering to Information Security & ISO policies and processes.

Skills & Experience



Essential:

Ethical Conduct Teamwork & Collaboration Customer Service Orientation positive attitude towards continuous learning Communication Strong and current technical knowledge of payroll processes and UK compliance requirements.
Desirable:

Management or leadership training advantageous Oracle Payroll processing experience Oracle HCM experience Creation of process handbooks

Qualifications



The ideal candidate will have a IPPE (CIPP) or IAB certificate.

Requirements



Full-time, 40 hours per week, shift pattern between 8am & 6pm Office based - Langstone, Newport, Wales Paid expenses outside your base location as per company policy Standard Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) including Disclosure Barring Scotland (DBS) is a minimum requirement for all roles. Security Clearance (SC) may also be required
