We are recruiting a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our busy Metalwork Department in Livingston.
This role is crucial in ensuring the production of high-quality sheet metal components, adhering to strict specifications and deadlines. We are looking for a self-motivated, results-orientated individual who enjoys working within a team and has a keen focus on attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fabrication and mechanical knowledge, with the ability to operate and maintain press brake machinery safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
Set up and calibrate press brake machines according to specifications and technical drawings
Operate press brake machinery to bend, form, and shape sheet metal with precision
Inspect parts for quality, ensuring they meet specified tolerances and standards
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimise downtime
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders accurately
Utilise hand tools, tooling, and other fabrication equipment as required
Maintain a clean and organised work area adhering to health and safety regulations
Assist in the assembly of fabricated components when necessary
Skills
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:
Proven experience in fabrication, particularly with sheet metal processes.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment effectively.
Proficiency in setting up and operating press brake machinery. Previous experience with Amada Brake Press machines is preferable.
Familiarity with various tooling setups and adjustments for different projects.
Proficient in basic mathematics for measurement and calculations related to production tasks.
Experience using common hand tools effectively within a manufacturing context.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (though not explicitly listed, this is a core skill implied by the production of high-quality components).
