Due to the continued success and expansion of our business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Branch Manager at our Axminster Branch

The Role

To lead and manage all aspects of a builders' merchant branch, ensuring it achieves sales, profit, customer service, and operational targets. Responsible for staff leadership, stock control, safety compliance, and delivering an excellent customer experience to trade and retail clients.

Responsibilities

1. Branch Operations

Oversee day-to-day operations including yard, warehouse, transport, and trade counter. Ensure the branch runs efficiently and safely, following all HSE and company procedures. Manage stock levels, ordering, and delivery logistics. Ensure excellent standards of housekeeping and presentation.

2. Sales & Commercial Performance

Drive branch sales and profitability by identifying opportunities and executing local strategies. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and branch targets. Develop and maintain strong relationships with local trade customers and key accounts. Work closely with suppliers and regional teams to maximise margin and availability.

3. People Leadership

Manage, motivate, and develop a team Conduct team briefings, 1:1s, and performance reviews. Handle recruitment, onboarding, absence management, and any disciplinary matters. Promote a strong team culture of safety, customer service, and results.

4. Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed. Manage vehicle checks, risk assessments, manual handling, and forklift/vehicle compliance. Maintain records for audits and company policies.

5. Customer Experience

Ensure all customers receive a professional and helpful service. Resolve customer queries or complaints effectively. Promote company promotions and local marketing campaigns.

The Hours

Week:1 Monday to Friday 07:30 - 17:00


Week :2 Monday to Friday 07:30-17:00 Saturday 08:00-12:00
