Job Description

We are one of the largest independent electrical wholesalers with six branches in the Midlands and South Wales.

We are looking for a Branch Manager at our Gloucester Branch with a demonstrable track record in sales, plus the ability to drive profitability and efficiency. You will need a positive attitude, the ability to motivate teams in busy business environments, ensuring service standards and business objectives are achieved. Planning, organisation, and man management skills are vital.

KEY TASKS

Position will have complete P&L responsibility so prior experience managing a profitable multi-million GBP revenue business is important. Excellent commercial acumen with a passion for success and building profitable sales, with a breadth of contacts within the industry This role would suit someone that has proven success in management in the electrical wholesale industry or a similar trade products distribution business Being a self-starter, positive attitude, natural leadership skills are key traits of the desired candidate. Work across departments to identify where they could be more efficient, productive, and profitable. Work with Procurement department to reduce stock levels, particularly dead and slow-moving stock. Be responsible for staff hiring, staff management and organisation. Put in place an up-skilling program, so that staff are trained to higher levels. Develop a sales forecast annually, and actively drive the business and staff to achieve the goals set.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Have an in-depth knowledge of the Electrical Wholesale trade gained over many years. 5+ years of work experience including Sales, operations management, people management and leadership skills. 3+ years of experience managing a team and first-rate skills in understanding, in creating and analysing financial reports and budgets. Have proficient leadership, organisational and supervisory skills, providing high level of service to colleagues. Excellent team player with strong written and verbal communication skills. Out-of-the-box thinker who will find creative ways to hit growth targets, drive improvements across all areas. You will be autonomous in approach, not requiring much guidance. Ability to thrive under pressure, remaining calm and organised. An effective decision-maker with exceptional management skills. Able to easily build trust and rapport with employees and shareholders. Excellent communication skills - experience managing large teams, building relationships across departments, and resolving conflicts. Very organised and able to prioritise even where information available is limited. A track record of demonstrable problem-solving skills in a fast-paced ever-changing environment. A strong sense of ethics and integrity. Highly resourceful with experience in people management and strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and strong analytical skills.
