Established in 1994, ND Services is a roadside breakdown and recovery company based in the south offering repair and recovery services across the UK. With car and commercials workshops, we provide a solution for any eventuality.
Why We're Hiring:
Due to continued growth and increasing operational demands, we are looking for a motivated and capable individual to join our recovery control room team in a role that requires proactive thinking, decision-making under pressure, and excellent communication.
Please note:
This is not a standard call-handling or office admin role. It involves real-time operational planning and coordination. However, you do not need to come in with technical or recovery industry knowledge , we're happy to train the right person. If you're simply looking for a desk job taking calls, this role won't be the right fit. But if you're curious, eager to learn, and want to be part of a dynamic team, we'll support your development every step of the way.
The Role:
We are currently seeking a Breakdown and Recovery Dispatcher to coordinate and assign recovery and roadside jobs to our team of drivers, technicians, and network partners. You'll work closely with field staff, assess vehicle issues based on caller descriptions, and help ensure the correct recovery resource is sent out.
In addition to dispatching, you'll also support our on-site maintenance operation -- helping order parts for our technicians and coordinating bookings and admin for commercial customers with ongoing servicing and inspection requirements.
Geographical knowledge of the UK (especially locally) is helpful, and an interest in how vehicles or transport operations work will go a long way, even if you're not from a technical background.
This is a Monday - Friday day shift from 8am - 5pm.
The role's Key Responsibilities are:
Using operational judgement to allocate the correct vehicle and technician to each job
Answering calls from customers and breakdown organizations, assessing their needs and vehicle issues.
Supporting scheduling and admin for fleet maintenance customers (servicing, defects, inspections)
Creating and managing jobs using the APEX recovery system.
Dispatching recovery jobs to the appropriate drivers, ensuring their vehicle capabilities match the task.
Handling card payments and preparing job sheets for invoicing
What we need from you:
A proactive attitude with a genuine interest in how vehicles and logistics work
A good understanding of UK geography, particularly the local area.
A positive attitude with a strong desire to learn
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Solid computer literacy and organizational abilities.
In return we'll offer:
A vested interest in the development of your own career through further training and courses funded by us.
A supportive team environment with room for growth.
Company pension scheme.
Employee discounts.
28 days holiday.
Please note:
If you have no prior experience but feel you have the right mindset and transferable skills, please provide a short cover note explaining why we should consider you.
At ND Services, we value attitude and potential over experience. If you're someone who enjoys learning, solving problems, and being part of a fast-moving team, we'd love to hear from you.
