Job Description

Activ Camps Ltd is a friendly and lively company running multi-activity camps, clubs and events for children aged 4-14 across South London. We are passionate about facilitating the highest quality experience for children within our community, providing them with the very best activities and equipment when joining us.

The ideal candidate for this role will be confident, friendly, and well organised. They should be energetic, enthusiastic and compassionate, with a natural ability to connect with children. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to balance assertiveness with a sense of fun and engagement. A keen awareness of safeguarding and health and safety is also critical to ensure a safe and supportive environment.

Pay:

12.50 p/h (18 - 20)

14.00 p/h (21+)

Hours:

Breakfast Club: 07.30 - 09.00 (full week availability not necessary)

After School Club: 15.00 - 18.00

Fixed term, term time only

Key Responsibilities



Lead activities in alignment with the Activity Operating Procedures (AOPs) and inspire children at the club to actively participate in the programme of activities provided. Ensure the safe, appropriate, and timely set-up and pack-up of activities on camp in accordance with the operating procedures set out by Activ Camps Ltd. Support with the storage, organisation, and care of all equipment, ensuring resources are well maintained and readily available for use. Assist with the preparation of food at the club, including clearing away and maintaining cleanliness in all facilities to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children at the club, acting swiftly and appropriately in the event of any safeguarding concerns. Be welcoming, communicative, and professional at all times with children, parents, carers, teachers, and other stakeholders to build trust and foster a positive environment. Encourage the development of children's social and emotional skills, creating a supportive space where they feel valued, included, and confident to express themselves. Identify and respond to individual needs or challenges among children, offering appropriate support to ensure every child has an engaging and enjoyable experience at the club.

Essential Attributes



18 years or older and have the right to work in the UK. Confident in leading and motivating small groups. Enthusiastic, organised, reliable and trustworthy. Have a fun and approachable manner with children and young people. Professional demeanour, able to work under pressure, and prioritise safety at all times.

Preferred Attributes



Experience in sports, coaching, or managing children's events/activities. Hold an Enhanced DBS Check for the Children's Workforce. Hold a Paediatric First Aid Qualification. Hold a Level 1 or 2 Food Safety and Handling certificate.

Safer Recruitment & Training



This role is subject to the successful completion of an online interview and trial shift. Candidates will also be required to provide two references appropriate to childcare and be able to hold a suitable Enhanced DBS Check.

Additionally, successful applicants must complete, on paid time, a series of certified training courses.
