We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Breakfast Chef to join our team at Heronston Hotel, a busy hotel known for offering exceptional breakfast experiences. This part-time position requires working from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 5 days a week, ensuring our guests enjoy fresh and delicious breakfasts to start their day. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality breakfast dishes, ensuring smooth operations during breakfast service.
Key Responsibilities
:
Prepare and cook
a variety of breakfast dishes, including eggs, pancakes, sausages, pastries, and other breakfast items, adhering to hotel standards.
Ensure efficient and timely service to guests during peak breakfast hours.
Maintain cleanliness
and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Manage stock levels and ensure ingredients are fresh and available for daily use.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service, and communicate with the front of house when needed.
Prepare meals for special dietary requirements (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, etc.).
Assist with menu planning and contribute to developing new breakfast items when required.
Ensure consistent presentation and quality of all breakfast dishes.
Safely handle and maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness.
Skills and Qualifications
:
Proven experience as a breakfast chef or similar role, ideally in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably within a hotel.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours while maintaining high standards.
Strong knowledge of breakfast food preparation and cooking techniques.
Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen health & safety regulations.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work early morning shifts from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, occasionally until 2.00pm if required.
Culinary certification or equivalent is a plus, but not required.
