Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Bricklayer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry work, with experience in bricklaying and the use of various hand and power tools. Applicants should be organised, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering durable and aesthetically pleasing brickwork.

Duties

Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to design specifications and blueprints Prepare surfaces by cleaning, chipping, and setting up scaffolding or working platforms Mix mortar and apply it accurately using trowels and other hand tools Operate power tools such as drills, saws, and grinders safely and efficiently Measure distances accurately to ensure proper alignment and levelness of structures Assist with related tasks including carpentry, roofing, or welding as required on-site Maintain a clean work environment by clearing debris and inspecting tools regularly Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget

Qualifications

Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work is essential Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, and hammers Knowledge of power tools relevant to masonry and construction tasks Basic understanding of carpentry, roofing, or welding is advantageous but not mandatory Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Physical fitness to perform manual labour in various weather conditions Relevant qualifications or certifications in masonry or construction trades are preferred
