We are seeking a skilled Bricklayer and multitrade person to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and bricklaying, with the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role involves constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, block, and other masonry materials. The successful applicant will demonstrate precision and attention to detail in their work, ensuring high-quality finishes on all projects.
Duties
Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials according to specifications and blueprints.
Measure and cut materials using hand tools and power tools to ensure accurate dimensions.
Mix mortar and other bonding agents as required for various projects.
Construct walls, arches, and other structures while adhering to safety regulations and building codes.
Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and roofers to complete projects efficiently.
Perform repairs on existing masonry structures, including repointing and replacing damaged bricks.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following proper safety practices.
Requirements
Proven experience in bricklaying and masonry work is essential.
Proficiency in using hand tools (trowels, chisels) and power tools (saws, mixers).
Knowledge of carpentry principles is advantageous for integrating masonry with wood structures.
Familiarity with roofing techniques is beneficial for projects involving both masonry and roofing elements.
Basic welding skills are a plus for certain construction tasks requiring metalwork integration.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical drawings accurately.
